Achievements

Current students Cassidy Fischer and Emily Jasper, along with professor Christine Ebrahim, made a total of 4 presentations to 5th graders at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School in Kenner in March. They discussed issues related to both physical bullying and cyberbullying, as well as what to do if students see others being bullied.

We are excited to share that two tenure faculty members, Thomas Foster, Ph.D., LPC-S and LeAnne Steen, Ph.D., LPC-S, along with Alumna Ariann Evans, MS, NCC, PLPC, and student Laura Pignato presented at The 2016 ACA Conference in Montereal, Canada. They reported their studies' results that examined how the first six psychological stages of development predicted wellness in college students.

Sarah Cline, a current student, was recently named Program Director of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Greater New Orleans. Boys Hope Girls Hope helps academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential and become men and women for others by providing value-centered, family-like homes, opportunities and education through college. We are extremely proud of Sarah and wish her much success!  

Congratulations to LIM Professor Michael Cowan who is Visiting Fellow and Director of Stewardship of the Centre for Intractable Conflict in Harris Manchester College in the University of Oxford and Visiting Research Fellow of the Irish School of Ecumenics in the Confederal School of Religion, Peace Studies and Theology in Trinity College Dublin.  In Dublin this April, he: 

When on At Home with Jim & Joy, Allison will discuss Catholic sexual morality, how the sexual revolution has affected US society, especially young people, and the St. Augustine Foundation's web resource on Catholic sexuality. After its initial broadcast, the program will re-air the following Saturday morning at 10:30 am.

On February 2016, Renee Floer presented at the Louisiana Play Therapy Conference in New Orleans, LA. She presented on "Adapting Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) Model to treat Children of Alcoholics and Addicts." 

On February 2016, Kristen Centanni and Maddie Schultz presented at the Louisiana Play Therapy Conference in New Orleans, LA. They presented on "Military Families and Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT): Adaptive Models for use during Deployment and Reintegration."

Dr. Thomas Foster and Dr. LeAnne Steen's manuscript, Examining how the Adlerian Life Tasks Predict Anxiety in First-Year Counseling Students, has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Individual Psychology. The issue should be in print later this year. Congratulations to our distinguished faculty members!
