LIM Professor Michael Cowan's Fellowships in Oxford and Dublin

Congratulations to LIM Professor Michael Cowan who is Visiting Fellow and Director of Stewardship of the Centre for Intractable Conflict in Harris Manchester College in the University of Oxford and Visiting Research Fellow of the Irish School of Ecumenics in the Confederal School of Religion, Peace Studies and Theology in Trinity College Dublin.  In Dublin this April, he: 

  • Presented to the Irish School of Ecumenics on how some leaders cross barriers in situations of racial, ethnic, religious and class divisions.
  • Spoke to the Irish Council for Christian and Jews. Topic: “A real conversation is never the one we wanted to conduct: How my conversation with Judaism changes me.” 

For his work this April with Oxford, he: 

  • Conducted a training session on family therapy and trauma for community-based counselors and psychotherapists at Lifespring Centre in Belfast, Northern Irleland.
  • Co-Convened an ecumenical dialogue of Irish Presbyterians and Catholics in the University of Oxford. The dialogue is now in its fourth year.
