Dr. Patricia Pearce has been a registered nurse since 1976, a nurse practitioner since 1994, a nurse researcher since 2004, and an educator since 1995. Her clinical background is extensive. Dr. Pearce’s research interest is in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods studies, as well as working with nurses in evidence- based practice. She has precepted, taught and mentored staff nurses, nurse practitioners, and students at BSN, MSN, DNP, and PhD levels. Dr. Pearce is a two-time graduate of Loyola (History and Nursing), has a Master in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine, Masters in Nursing from Mississippi University for Women, and PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Pearce lived in New Orleans from 1976 through 1999, and returned in 2012 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. She teaches in the School of Nursing, and has served as DNP Program Coordinator and Interim Director.  She now serves in the role of Interim Director for the School of Nursing.
